Dimension Zero: He who shall not bleed

In his review of Dimension Zero’s debut album, ex-staffer/cocksmoker Syrrok wrote: “This album is 100% cocaine. 100% thrash death metal tough beat-driven sexiness”. I couldn’t have put it any better, and the words are perfectly true for their third album, “He Who Shall Not Bleed”. This album is so brutal, so fast, so vicious, I can’t help feeling a rash in my asshole, as if I had just been man-raped. It’s that good.
I know what you’re thinking, everything that comes out of Gothenburg nowadays is just a rehash of At The Gates, In Flames and Dark Tranquility, and to worsen things, there actually are members of In Flames (Jesper) and Dark Tranquility (Daniel) in Dimension Zero. Well, shut the fuck up. Although this is nothing more, nothing less than Gothenburg melodic death metal (yes, I cringe at the thought of that term as well, but it’s been more than a decade now, let’s deal with it), the songs are fucking catchy as fuck, while maintaining inhuman speed and dexterous playing. Frankly, could you ask for a better guitar duo than those two fuckers? Particularly for this genre, none are better suited, and I can’t help but find it odd that Dimension Zero is actually a lot better than their “main” bands, at least better than the shit they are putting out nowadays. The songs are really short, fast (did I say that already?), like quick bursts of a machine gun, making your entrails fly high, a true sonic massacre.
I’m thinking of starting a campaign that asks In Flames and Dark Tranquility to hang it up, so Jesper and Daniel can focus solely on Dimension Zero. True, I didn’t care much for their sophomore, but “He Who Shall Not Bleed” more than makes up for it, and might even be better than “Silent Night Fever”.
